A Guide to Blogging

Posted by Pastor Fies on 1st May 2009

So what is a blog anyways?  It is a way to get information about the subject of the weblog (a log on the web)–in this case, McKee Road Baptist Church.  Here you will find posts (articles) about the church, its activities, and members.

How to make the most out of this blog: the following are some ways to “get involved,” if you will, with this blog.

  1. Comment.  If you have something that would add or give a helpful response to an article that has been posted, feel free to click on the comments under the post.  It will supply a box in which to type your comment and submit it.  It will then go for moderation (checked for content and spelling by blog administrator) and will be posted soon.
  2. Subscribe.  You can have this blog sent to your email and declare yourself a blog user by subscribing to the feed (found on our church home page also).
  3. Monitor.  New posts go up daily and you will want to see what the post-of-the-day may have in store for you.  There may be information about upcoming events and/or services that you can be involved in.  It’s sort of like an online bulletin (except you don’t have to wait until an usher gives you one).

Well, there you have it.  You have now completed your blogging 101 course.  You deserve a dimploma…and a trip to Disneyland (well, let’s not go too far).
