Games for the Picnic

Posted by Pastor Fies on 21st May 2009

Does anyone have any ideas for games at the Memorial Day Picnic on Monday? So far, it has been suggested to have ping pong. If anyone has croquet, that would be fun. I also thought water balloons for the kids might be fun. We have a basketball goal, too. I think we should try to rig up a volleyball net, also. So, what do you think? Leave a comment if you have an idea or like any of these.

My children really like ping pong and basketball. I have the balls for croquet and some of the wire goals, but no mallets. If someone has an idea for mallets, I can bring those with us to the picnic. During our summer birthdays we like to play dunking for apples or balloons, whichever you prefer. My girls also like hopscotch and four square. The boys like dodge ball.

  2. We have Pétanque (Bocce Ball). We always enjoyed it.

I’ve got the flu right now (yuck) but hoping to be on the mend by Sunday and Monday.

    Hi Pastor,
Dave and I have a croquet set we can bring. We also have a big blow up soccor ball and a net if you want that. Sometimes at birthday parties we play a balloon relay. Divide the kids into two teams, they pass the balloon overhead through there line, then the last person runs to their chair and has to sit, bounce, jump on their balloon until it pops. Then they run back until everyone has popped a balloon. Hope this helps.

All of these ideas sound great. Go ahead and bring your supplies and we will set up for them on Monday. Thanks for your input!
